Our sole aim is to raise funds to enhance the school experience for the students of Arthur Mellows by assisting in the provision of facilities or educational items not provided from statutory funds. 

 

While the Association is managed by a dedicated committee which meet monthly, volunteers are always very much appreciated, whether to help at events, donate prizes, support our events by coming along or simply spreading the word about our endeavours.

 

Past activities have helped raise funds for the stylish eucalyptus seats and picnic benches which you may have seen dotted around the outside areas of the College.

 

In the last year, we have boosted our total by holding a race night and by selling refreshments at the Christmas Concert.

 

Our challenge in 2013/2014 is to continue and raise money for the College.  A number of projects have been discussed and we hope to announce shortly which ones we will be focusing on this year.

 

One of our biggest annual money-spinners is the sale of second hand uniform. We accept donations of outgrown shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, skirts, sports kit and coats. The College also gives us unclaimed, unnamed, items from lost property. All items are checked for damage, washed and sold at College or AMA events. (Another reason to name your child’s uniform – you’d be surprised how many buyers at our stalls suspect they may be buying their own, unnamed, uniform back!).

 

We are hoping 2013 will be even busier, enabling us to move quickly towards our total.  Look out for our Year 7 Uniform Sales Day on 17 June 2013, refreshment sales at this years Summer Concert on 26 June 2013 and finally our Non-Uniform day on 17 July 2013 – all donations to go to the AMA.

 

We encourage as many parents to support us as it will benefit all the children at the College.
