I.C.T.
The ICT department aims to promote the creative use of digital applications by challenging learners to demonstrate what they know and are able to do in authentic contexts. We equip learners with the skills they need to live, learn and earn in the 21st century by developing their ability to organise themselves and their work and by encouraging them to reflect critically on their own and others’ use of ICT.
Key Stage 3
In Years 7 and 8 students work on a variety of differentiated tasks, using digital resources delivered via web technologies, which follow the National Curriculum for ICT and in Year 9 students study computer science.
Key Stage 4
The College offers a modular based ICT course which is equivalent to one GCSE. The course comprises of four units of work, two of which are mandatory and are in the form of an external examination and an assessment under controlled conditions. The other two units of work are internally assessed, in the form of coursework.
