Teacher Subject Specialist Training (TSST)

Registration for the 2018-2019 Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) Programme in either Secondary Mathematics, or Physics is now open.

These are fully-funded TSST in either Secondary Maths, or Physics, led by the Greater Peterborough Teaching School Alliance (GPTSA) and specialist subject tutors at Arthur Mellows Village College.

TSST courses are focused on existing teachers, with the aim of building the capacity of non-specialists who may currently be teaching Mathematics or Physics, or may be able to move into a role teaching those subjects. In addition, they can support teachers who wish to return to the profession after a period away from the classroom.

The courses are approved and funded by the Department for Education.  TSST programmes are free to participants, run from November to May and are made up of face-to-face sessions, with opportunities to have lessons observed, feedback given and assessments taken.

Through successful completion, participants will be confident in their Mathematical or Physics understanding, able to inspire and enthuse students about Mathematics or Physics and confident in using and developing effective classroom activities.

Please Note: There are up to 20 participant places on the Secondary Maths and Physics training programme.  Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
